David graduated in Electrical Engineering from Brown University in 1980. He has worked for companies and was directly involved in all phases of system development, including application programming, OS programming, firmware, and digital and analog electronics design.
In 1992, he completed graduate studies at Brown University, where he received a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. for studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science while working as a commercial design engineer.
Dr. Durfee has been an adjunct professor at the University of Rhode Island and an adjunct professor at Brown University for over 20 years. Subjects taught include analog electronics, digital electronics, and communications. He is on the advisory board of the Slater Technology Fund and the University of Rhode Island’s biomedical engineering program.
He founded Bay Computer Associates, Inc. in 1989, a subsidiary of Impact Electronic Solutions. Hundreds of electronic and software designs developed at BCA include business and web applications, communications, medical, laboratory, and manufacturing software, firmware, and electronics. Customers range from Fortune 500 firms to startups.
